The International Student plan provides coverage for medically necessary hospital and medical services for you, and your eligible dependents.

The following expenses may be covered.

  • Virtual Health Clinic

    All International Students, under age 65, their accompanying spouses and accompanying dependent children.

  • Virtual Health Clinic

    Treatment of Illness or Injury, Surgery and Doctor’s visits or In-clinic visit to treat a new urgent condition.

  • Virtual Health Clinic

    Emergency Room coverage included. 100% Reimbursement for first 4 days, after up to a maximum of 2.5 times the interprovincial rate.

  • Virtual Health Clinic

    Medical Services and Devices coverage include treatment of fractures or dislocations, XRays and laboratory exams, Dental procedures performed in an operating room by a dental surgeon, Annual health exam, Licensed Anesthetist, Cleft lip and palate assistance, Well-baby care expenses (6 mos. after birth of insured dependent child).

Once you have completed the online or phone registration, you can select a convenient time to have your appointment with our Medical Provider. We are open 7-days a week from 8am to 9pm Eastern Standard Time, including statutory holidays.

Our virtual doctor will connect with you within approximately 15 to 30 minutes of your appointment time. If you experience a delay in the healthcare provider contacting you, please be patient as they may be tending to the patients ahead of you. If you experience a prolonged delay, please email operations@virtualhealthclinic.com and a member of our team can let you know where you in the queue. If a longer appointment time is required, a member of our team will call you to set up a time where the Medical Provider can dedicate time to address your healthcare concerns.

To cancel or reschedule your appointment, you may email operations@virtualhealthclinic.com or call us at 844-222-7200 with your first name, last name and time of your appointment.

Based on your current symptoms, medical history and at the discretion of the doctor, a new prescription or prescription refill can be prescribed. Our Healthcare Providers do not prescribe controlled substances, addictive substances or sleeping aids. Please visit your primary care provider or local clinic for assistance.

To get your online doctor’s note, simply book an appointment at a time that is convenient for you and chat with our Healthcare Provider by phone.

Based on your situation and your symptoms, our Healthcare Provider will use their discretion and provide you with a sick note online accordingly.

Yes. The virtual doctor will inform you of the charge at the time of your virtual medical visit.

Yes, our virtual doctors can backdate your sicknote 1-2 days prior to your appointment. A medical note can be issued for a maximum of 3-5 days depending on the circumstances.

A follow up virtual medical visit is required should you wish to extend your medical note.

A doctor's note is not guaranteed. Our Healthcare Provider will examine your current symptoms during the consultation and decide whether a sick note is required.

Yes, Our Medical Providers are trained and highly qualified to provide mental health support. Our Medical Providers can also refer you to local Mental Health Specialists, if needed, for further assessment, treatment, and consultations.

The Virtual Health Clinic is not intended for emergency care. If you are experiencing symptoms of chest pain, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, altered state of consciousness or any injury requiring immediate attention, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest hospital.
